Somebody stop this crazy thing!

Looks like tonight will be devoted to adjusting the brakes on my Model A. On the way home last week I had to make a sudden stop and felt the car pull hard to the left. It turns out that the front right brake isn’t doing its job–apparently the left is doing all the work. Since I already have to drive cautiously to be sure I can stop in traffic, I think having only one wheel do the stopping is a Bad Thing ®

Another Fun and Frustrating Game

OK, I’d forgotten this was on my MAME system…

If you are (or were) a fan of the movie, you might have enjoyed this game in the arcade in the 80s. Of course, when you were putting a quarter in each time you died, it was a LOT more frustrating than it is when you can just hit the credit button :-)

Solar Not an Option

At least, not for the motors. I bought four amorphic solar cells, rated a 3.4v and 17.5mW each. Unfortunately, their output indoors is not enough to drive even a single LED :-( So that means that it’s back to the drawing board for power for my Graf Zeppelin.

Zeppelin Engine Car w/ Motor

This is the engine car from my Graf Zeppelin model with the tiny motor I’ll be installing to turn the prop. Shown with a quarter for scale. I’ll be adding fiber optic filament for tiny running lights.
